My Triple Feature
Friday March 28th
I got to sleep in a little which was nice. But after that it was off and running! I went to Pac Lab and picked up my film and took it to a different place. I practically walked the whole way. Then I went to the casting office to pick out some different people to cast for my short film to replace my lead actor who bailed on me. After I was done with that I booked it to the film forum to catch a triple feature of Raging Bull, Manhattan, and Contempt. Before heading into the theater I grabbed some Chipotle. All three films were beautiful. After the triple feature I went over to casa de Ellery (my aunts house) and hung out with the fam for a little while. We played a massive game of hide and go seek with the little one. After it was time for her to go to bed Stacy and I took the dog for a walk and talked about life, movies, and the odds.
After that I hopped on the A train and made my way home.

My Nothing Day.
Thursday March 27th
Today was a very short day. I woke up a little late, and made my way to the radio station. Did my show and went to acting class. Which as usual sucked. But overall there were some funny moments. After that was production where we worked on someone's short film. Got to hang out with some of my class mates and just talk which was nice. After class I just headed home and went to bed.

My Lead Actor Sucks
Wednesday March 26th.
Woke up far to early. Not before I needed to wake up for something, but just early in the morning. On Sunday after I shoot the movie I am not waking up until I god damn feel like it! Anyways reluctantly showered and got dressed. Hopped on the train and then went to work. Had a bagel and chatted with Michael about Kubrick, marzupan babies, among other things. Luckily I didn't have to go on massive errands in the morning and got to chill for a little while. But when lunch rolled around I had to run back and forth to get the ordered lunch. But because the restaurant was stupid I had to make 3 trips back and forth. It was annoying. But since the weather was awesome it wasn't so bad. Lunch was also really tasty. It was from this place called La Esquina and I had some delicious steak tacos.

After work I had to run and drop off the film to get it developed. While en route I called my lead actor for my short film to confirm the rehearsal time on friday. During the conversation he tells me that he can't make it to the shoot on Saturday. Now I spoke to him on Tuesday. He knew the dates of the shoot at least a week in advance. So sometime since the day before he found something else to do. Needless to say I was pissed! I did the only thing I could think of at the moment and that was to madly power walk to some Dethklok.
I made my way to class over a half hour late, but the teacher hadn't even shown up by that point. So Taylor and I went to this lecture by one of our teachers about this french director. It was really interesting, but I was soo tired and frustrated from the day that I fell asleep for part of it. But overall it was great.
But got back to the dorm and just chilled and watched some Battlestar before heading off to bed.

My Pink Eye
Tuesday March 24th.
Elias (not intentionally ) woke me up at 9 when I wanted to sleep in till 1030. But to top it off I woke up to find I have pink eye fucking again!!!!!!! So mad! I couldn't fall back asleep so I hopped in the shower and finished an episode of Angel while I air dried. Met up with Taylor and grabbed some Chipotle before heading into the city for class.
It was a little surreal because we kept on being around people who were making strange sounds. I know this sounds weird. But it was strange for us too. This lady at Chip started cracking up laughing during a phone call. Like top-of-her-voice-laughing. Then on the train there was this big dude sleeping but his loud and heavy breathing sounded like a low raspy whistle. Then there was this guy walking across the street from us who spouted this line that sounded like it was from a Diablo Cody script.
Anyways, we stopped at Starbucks before heading into class. Taylor was nice enough to treat me to an iced caramel machiato. We head to class and I do ok on a test. Probably get a B. I also got my paper back and got a B on that too. I would have an A in that class if remotely understood or liked the novels we are reading. But I don't and they are boring as crap.
After class I was very productive. I booked a rehearsal for my short film, returned the receipts from my second Boston excursion, talked with the casting coordinator, returned some emails, grabbed some Quiznos, and even had time to read some Kevin Smith before heading into my second class. We had alot of fun in class talking about tampons, lolcats, pink eye, and boflexes.
Made my way back to the dorm, and had to get let in because I left my key in the room. I put on some Battlestar Galactica and updated the blog. I downloaded the new Death Cab for Cutie song (love!) and then Sam came over to celebrate getting a callback for a national touring company of Cats. Elias and Sam played Rock Band until Elias got a call from a friend back home that said he was joining the military. It put a somber halt on the evening for about an hour. After that we got a little drunk and played some halo 3 before going to sleep around 2.

My Catch Up Part 3
Monday March 24th.
So got up really way to early and went to work, where it was a prety chill day. Our internet was out for about half the day. But since we don't have any jobs in house it wasn't that big of a deal. Our boss wasn't there either, so there really wasn't much to .
After work I went to my aunts house to take Ellery a gift bag that my mom sent with me. It consisted of bubbles, furry animals, whinnie the pooh cutlery, and more bubbles! You know that scene in Knocked up where they talk about how kids go ape shit over bubbles? Ellery did exactly that! She was the happiest kid in the world when she was playing with those bubbles.
I had to leave there after a very little time spent with them to go home and study. Before I get into the subway I grabbed some Joe's Pizza cause I was craving it all day long.
Got back. Studied a little. Hacked my iphone so I have nintendo and super nintendo games! Along with other apps. I love my phone and I find it really frustrating when people hate on it. For no really good reason. I get that mac can sometimes have an air of superiority about them, but I dont think that I do. The thing I like alot about their products is the ease of use that come with the systems. Anyways the phone rocks and if you dont think so then dont tell me cause you obviously havent used one............I only half mean the last sentence.

My Catch Up Part 2
Sunday March 23rd
So I woke up and got in the shower. Grabbed my stuff and hailed a taxi. Headed over to Penn Station and walked in to a labyrinth that is that station. I got my ticket and grabbed a bagel and an iced coffee.
I boarded the train which was not full thankfully. I had never really traveled by train before, and I must say, it is really great. The seats are wide and there are outlets to plug in your stuff. If i had the choice I would totally travel by train whenever I could. So I read the new Empire, and listened to some Eddie Izzard before finishing season 2 of Battlestar Galactica.
Got into Boston around 2pm and grabbed a cab and headed over the hotel and dropped off the DVD. I had lunch at the hotel's restaurant's. I had some good clam chowder and an off the hook cheeseburger and fries before booking it to the bus at 330. The bus ride was not fun. It was cramped and I was really hot throughout. But I got back in and chilled. Sam came over and we had a forty party.
Fell asleep really late.

My Catch Up Part 1
Saturday March 22
So I had plans to meet up with Jason (my Director of photography {the guy who lights my movie}) to go over the look of the movie. We planned to meet at 12pm. But seeing as I woke up at 1130 we pushed it to 1pm.
I showered and made my way to the lace called the Grand Saloon where I had a nice cup of french onion soup. We talked about the film and our other class mates. We decided that we are somewhat of out casts in our classes. I guess we just run on different frequencies than most people.
Anyway afterwards I mossied back to my dorm and finished up season 2 of Angel. In the process I got a call from Matt asking if I wanted to go to Boston again on Sunday. I said why not? Didnt have anything else interesting to do that day. He said I would need to pick up the DVD I was delivering around 830pm. I get there around 840pm. and since the DVD isn't done yet we decided to go grab a beer and chill until the DVD is finished.
So after I was handed the DVD I walked a few blocks to grab some Chipotle before I headed to see In Bruges. Since they didn't have any soft tacos they gave me my burrito for free! Which was awesome! So after that I walked up to the theater and peeped In Bruges. But it was a little strange because there were alot of people who would NOT stop talking. Luckily they left.
After the movie I came back to the dorm. Packed my bag and got ready to wake up early to catch my train.

My Morning After.
Friday March 21st.
Woke up really really late at 1pm. I never sleep that late. But seeing as I didn't get in until 3am and didn't fall asleep until 4am I'd say that its fair. I messed about and got ready for the day. Watched some Angel and ate some leftover pizza until about 3pm. I made my way to Marty's office to return the petty cash.
After that I went to my Aunt and Uncle's place and spent time with them who I haven't seen in over 3 weeks. I couldn't properly "play" because I'm still sick. But she was happy to see me. We chatted for a bit then Stacy came home. We showed each other some trailers and decided to go get some food. We went to the brick oven pizza place called No. 28 and it was delicious.
After we ate I made my way up to a theater on 68th and Broadway. Grabbed an orangina and head in to the theater. I walked passed the ticket taker without them taking my ticket so I had a free ticket! I saw the flick Funny Games, which was a pretty slick movie.
After the movie I walked around uptown for a bit looking for the Magnolia bakery but to no avail it was closed. Talked to Shelbs for a few minutes then hopped on the 2 train. Rocked some Battlestar and made the slow ride home.
Fell asleep watching some Angel.

My Trip to Boston
Slept in which was nice and woke up around 1030. Showered and checked the email for a little. Around noon I ordered some pizza and popped in some Angel while I waited for a call from Matt. Phil sent me a draft of a short film we are tossing around. I called him up and gave him shit for his formatting. But it was all in fun because he has never written screenplay format. We might shoot it for a t 58 hour film festival that is happening this summer in VB.
I got the call around 2 and made my way up to the office up on 57th street. But I got stupid and took the incorrect train and it took me almost an hour to get there. I go up to the office which is Marty's personal office. (personal note I don't do the name drops because I think I'm all high and mighty cause I interact with "famous" people. I just happen to be involved in that business). So I go up to the office and I'm greeted by Matt the assistant along with Nick and Dave who are the editors. They just finished editing the special features for the DVD for the shine the light documentary and they begin to export it on to a DVD. While that is happening we figure out how I am getting up to Boston. The train doesn't get in soon enough for me to make the train back so its a bus that I'm taking.
While waiting for the DVD I walk around the office and marvel at all the movie memorabilia strewn about. I walk down the hall and look into a room with those shelves that are on a track so that you can compress how much width they are at son you can have more shelves.
Anyway this room, all the shelves are filled with DVDs and VHS tapes literally numbering in the 3 thousand range. Thus was Marty's personal video archive. I was told thy this is only one 4th of his collection. They also showed me where he keeps his lasersdisc collection (DVD before DVD that are the size of records. ) and it is about two thousand titles. Needles to say I was impressed.
Grabbed the just exported DVD and a binder if DVDs all with the label "GH" and they confirmed my curiosity and told me they had to do with the new George Harrison doc they are doing.
So I hoped in a cab and went to the bus terminal, grabbed my ticket, a copy of Wired, some pretzels, and hopped on the bus. Listened to some Eddie Izzard while updating the blog (via iPhone).
After that I kicked on some Foals and read some more of the Kevin Smith diary, which is the main inspiration for my sudden restart up of my blog. If you read both you'll find our style is similar.
The trip went without incident. I felt bad for the person sitting next to me cause I sound really gross right now with my head cold. I have to snort alot and I just had a coffin fit halfway through the trip.
So I got into Boston around 930 and met up with Marty's assistant Lisa. We hit it off really well. I asked her where I could get some actual food before I had to turn around and get back on the bus at 1030. She took me to her hotel and went up to her room to print something out. I went to the bar and order a burger to go and sat down at the bar. I asked for a white Russian and the bartender asked for my id. Now even tough I'm not 21 I still gave it to her because i was hoping that she would take my confidence and give it a glance and give me the drink. But she took it and studied it for about 30 seconds before coming back and gave me perplexed look. I shrugged and asked for a club soda instead.
I got the burger and met up with Lisa and headed back to the terminal. She thanked me and said if I missed the bus that they would set me up with a hotel. We exchanged numbers and I walked into the bus terminal. I got in line for my bus and contemplated for a few minutes
about skipping the bus and taking up the hotel option in hope of going to the set the next day. But decided against it cause I wouldnt want to lie about something like that.
So I got situated on the bus with two seats to myself and munched in my food. The burger was pretty good but the fries were amazing. Hands down the best I've ever had.
Watched an episode or two of Battlestar Galactica before doing some more blog updating.
We made a stop for more people to get on and I tried my dardest to ignore every one as so they wouldn't sit with me but I wasn't ignoring enough. I had to re situate EVERYTHING. And he smelled of cigarettes, and he would stop talking to me for like 10 minutes. I even had by
headphones in and everything and he still' wouldn't take the hint. I like how the headphones have become an international "don't talk to me" sign. I sometimes wear headphones in stores just so people don't talk to me.
So I put Battlestar back on and after I finish another episode I put on this movie called Open City. I was about halfway through it a week ago and I just never got around to finish it until now. But I did finish it and really really enjoyed it. So I decided to watch and episode of firefly when the guy sitting next to me decides to rearrange himself and sleep on his side getting all up in my personal bubble. If there is one thing I can't stand is someone I don't know or care to know
touching me. And in the process of moving around he is now taking up a good chunk of my seat as well. I begin to tap him on the shoulder. Nothing. I start to shake him. Nothing. Then I slowly come to the conclusion that smell of cigarette earlier was only masking the smell of alcohol on him. So now he begins to lay back on me, making me trapped. Nothing is waking this guy up from his drunken stooper. Mercifully the person across from me told me to come and sit there. So I grabbed my stuff and moved. The guy continued to contort his body in the strangest of ways while still sleeping. Here is a picture of what he looked like sleeping.

Anyways so I got to bus station about an half hour after that. And as I was walking through the terminal I noticed alot of people just sleeping on the floor. Granted it was 3 in the morning but i still thought it was kind of bizzare. So of course I took pictures.

So I flagged a cab and he took me back to the dorm. I susupect that he took me the long way because the fair was over 20 dollars and its usually 18 including tip from that area. But whatever it was petty cash so I was't fitting the bill. I got back in around 330. Checked the internet for a few before crashing around 4am. It was a long day.

My Prelude to a Misadventure
Wednesday March 19th, 2008
So had to wake up at 730am to go to work. Definitely had a bit of a hangover. Took a shower and got dressed. Loaded up the iPod with recently downloaded Eddie Izzard stand up. Looked up the weather and saw that it was gonna rain all day so I grabbed the umbrella and headed out the door.
Got to work and ordered some D&D Deli and did the usual pre arrival of the boss stuff. Bagels and paper arrive from D&D but before I can do my morning routine of a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and an iced coffee, I am whisked away to go get coffee grounds from D&D but while I'm there I get a call saying that I have to go to Dean and Deluca and get pastries. So I go there then head back into the office and finally get to eat my bagel(!).
After some more running around in the freezing rain my feet were soaked because converses are not meant for wet weather.
I indulged myself and had a burger and fries for lunch. While eating I searched the Internet and I found the new Panic! at the Disco album and downloaded it. It is pretty good. Different than their first album.
While messing about the office Michael asked what I was doing tomorrow. And I replied nothing really. He then informed me that hid friend works for martin Scorsese and they needed someone to take a train to Boston and deliver a package. And they will at a 125 to do it. So I jumped at the chance. Talked to the guy Matt and exchanged numbers and he said he would call me back if they need me.
The rest of the work day I took my bosses iPhone to the mac store and it got replaced. Updated the blog and chilled with my co workers.
I left at 530 and head off to my editing class. Did some stuff in there and then left with Taylor to get some food. We walked to the union square Chipotle, but before going in Matt (the guy who works for Scorsese) call me back and tells me the trip is on. Taylor and I have celebratory burritos and existentially talk about movies and film.
We hop on the W train and that about halfway home we notice that we are the only people in our train car. It was kind of surreal.
Got back to the dorm and checked the emails while Elias played halo. After talking to my mom and Leah where she schooled me on Christianity and the like. I have some of the best discussions about religion with Leah. She I'd calm and sincere and is very well read. She invited me to sushi and karaoke party Thursday. I told her u would lobe to but it all depends on the Boston trip.
I got my bags and stuff ready for tomorrow then jumped on and played some halo with some guys at the dorm. After that I put on Southland Tales and fell asleep

My Walkabout
So I woke up at ten, which was great because I hadn't been able to sleep in for the past week and a half. Took a shower and watched some Angel before leaving the dorm at 11. Stopped at chipotle and got a delicious burrito. Then got on the train and met Taylor in the
station. We crammed reading excerpts from the Canterbury tales for our class on the train. Then we split up and he went to class and I went to print put my paper. I really need to get a printer because I am always fucked when I have to print essays being one to two pages but I have to trek all the way to the library to print out one thing. Its frustrating. Anyways, print out the essay and head to class a few minutes late. But I got lucky and found out that the test I was cramming for is NEXT week.
In class my brain strayed turning to mush because the teacher just kept drowning on and on and on and on and you get the point. I just can't connect to anything about the Canterbury Tales.
After class I grabbed the film from Mike that I needed to get developed for my group project and started calling around as to where we could get it done. But because it is negative film instead of reversal film (what we normally shoot on) no one can process it for less than 80 dollars. I called every place in Manhattan and no one does negative film regularly. So even if we do decide to get it done for 80 dollars (when normally it would cost around 30 to do) we wont get the film back until sometime next week (lame.).
Being on the cell I didn't take the subway and walked from 23rd to Union Square and went to the Virgin Megastore. They are selling the HD DVD'S for 50% off and I wanted to grab for cheap. I was also gonna grab Southland Tales as well but it was too expensive. So I walked over to Best Buy and got it for less there. I decided against Atonement because I just shouldn't spend the money right now.
So after doing a big circle around Chelsae , I sat down in the Monkey Bar updated the blog and watched about half of Tales before going to my writing class.
Class went really well. We read my short script and it went over really well. The teacher didn't have any format notes for me which is good. Script formatting and execution is so easy to me. Its just the idea part that is kinda tough. After that we talked about classes and teachers for next year and I think I'm pretty set to have some great experiences next year.
So left class and got to the subway station but I had to wait like 15 minutes for a freaking train. When I got back to the dorm I watched some Office UK and some Angel while hanging up my clothes. Elias's girlfriend Sam came over and we all got drunk and watched youtube videos and played some Rock Band. I fell asleep around 2.

My Triumphant Return.
Sigh. yes. no updates in a very long time. But I swear that I will get better. I'm going to attempt to update everyday.
So spring break was pretty good. I worked with my dad at a bank. I primarily entered in spreadsheets the entire time, but go paid pretty well. so that is good. I also got to spend time with Shelby for a few days who i wont see before I get out of school in May.
My dad drove me back to NYC. We did some stuff around the city over the weekend which was pretty cool.
But I would like to take some time to talk about one of the most socially awkward things inn the world at this time......So when I got back I had to do some laundry. I went down to the laundry room and put the clothes in the wash. When I came back down to put them in the dryer I couldnt find one of my loads. Someone elses clothes were in the washer. My clothes were on the table, which i was a little pissed about. But anyways, the thing that was really awkward was that I needed to put my wet clothes in the dryer. BUUUTT there were no open driers to be had. So I had to scope one out that had dry clothes and take them out. I had to majorly convince myself to do it though because I felt SOOO wierd taking someone elses clothing out and setting it aside. I kept looking over my shoulder to see if they were coming in to find me messing with their clothes. Cause I'd get pissed if I caught someone doing it.
Anyways so First day back was pretty interesting. I didn't have class mind you, but a few meetings. I met with my financial aid adviser to figure out how to pay for school. After that I had a casting session for my short film which didn't go that well. I invited about 10 people to do it and only about half showed up. There was a two hour gap where no on showed up. It was kind of nice because it gave me some time to catch up on some homework and reading.
On my way back to my dorm I saw this guy on the street who I swear looked exactly like Albert Einstein. I wanted to walk up to him and bug him but refrained because that would've been weird.
Back at the dorm I watched some Eddie Izzard and Battlestar Galactica while attempting to work on my lame paper for my literature class on the Canterbury Tales. But after figuring out that I cant watch something I am really interested in and do my homework, I switched on some music and cracked down on the paper. And around midnight I finished the paper, made a white Russian, and played some Halo 3 with the guys. After that put on some Angel and fell asleep.

My MLK
Its only now that after Surf and Sand has closed do I feel comfortable trying to get another job at a movie theater. I would've felt like I was cheating on Surf and Sand or something. I don't know.
Lazy Monday happening right now. I have lots of work to do for my scholarships and what not. So today is shaping up be a little boring.

My First Week Back.
Been back for over a week. I truly missed the city and I am glad to be back. I took my dad to a screening of There Will Be Blood at Union Square, on a Saturday night at 7. So needless to say the place was packed with people. My dad was amazed of how busy the place was. He commented that he had never seen a movie theater that crowded. All I could do was shrug and say thats New York for ya.
I got reacquainted the things that i missed. I have had chipotle about 4 times since i've been back. I'm now using the subway without really having to look at the maps. I did get to involved in the book I was reading and missed my stop at my dorm. Stopped by my comic shop and haunted the soho Mac store for a few hours.
My first week back in class was ok. I like most of my classes. Most of them are the same teachers and times. But my new classes are Acting for Film and Literature. And the literature class consists of only pre modern works such as Chaucer, Shakespeare, and Sophocles. I have this mental block against literature that was written more than a hundred years ago. I'm more into the post modern lit novels. The oldest book I've read and enjoyed is Walden.
My acting teacher is the quintessential acting teacher. She's this chill hippie teacher who forbids criticism and judgment. "We are all on the same level.Equals" she says. It will be an interesting way to start my Thursdays.
Through a finagling of my own my schedule my last class is on Thursday and then my next class isn't until Tuesdays at noon. So every weekend I have a four day weekend to get all my stuff done. I have still have my internship on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Friday was cool. I ran a bunch of errands and saw Youth Without Youth, which is this bizzare movie about a scientist who gets struck by lightning when he is 80 and begins to age backwards. Then Nazis get involved somehow. Its really crazy but pretty interesting. After that I went back to the dorm where Elias ,his friend Dan , and I had a mac and cheese party and played some guitar hero.
Saturday was a strange little day. Stacy and I took Ellery to see the Veggie Tales movie. It was about vegetables who are pirates (??). Ellery being two got bored with it and we left. I decided to hang back and watch the last half of There Will Be Blood. Went back to the dorm for a little while before meeting Leah to go see Cloverfield. And I must say that it totally delivered some great scares. It completely met my expectations which were pretty high. Alot of people there were pissed about the movie that it didn't explain alot of stuff. It was a very well crafted monster movie and a great film in general. I guess from a film making stand point it really spoke to me because it was played as if it was a digital camcorder with all the overlapping footage and jump cuts. The handheld camera was a little trying at some points, I sat too close to the screen and got a headache. Right after that Leah felt we needed to detox from Cloverfield, by seeing 27 Dresses. I felt like I was the only guy in the theater. They had a decent soundtrack, but other than that it was a complete paint-by-numbers chick flick.
It was cool though because I finally saw the commercial that I worked on in October. They were playing it during the adverts at the movie theater and during the football game on Sunday. Its really an indescribable gratification.
My radioshow is now on Thursdays so I should upload it Thursday night/Friday morning.

My Movie Theater
So tonight could very well be the last time I ever work at surf and sand. I have worked there for almost four years (In April). There is a very good chance that it is closing very soon. There are some screwy things going on with the lease and because of numerous other factors. We haven't had a new movie in over a month so its a good sign. There are a million things wrong with the place. Our ice machine is broken, the heat is out in two theaters, the roof leaks profusely when it rains hard, our registers are over 20 years old, the projectors have multiple problems. I honestly believe that if someone put the money into the place to renovate it and fix a few things then it would gain alot of attendance back.
I have this tiny void within me with the idea that it will be shut down.(yes a very emo statement I know. But hear me out.) That place is such a big chapter of my life. I mean there were weeks at a time when I would spend more time there than I would at home sleeping. Hours upon countless hours walking up and down the hallways patrolling movie theaters, sweeping up an infinite amount of popcorn kernels, dealing with unruly customers. I have seen alot of people come and go. Made some friends. Got most of my friends to work there with me which was really great. But its just strange to think of that place just NOT being there anymore.
I've seen SOOOOO many movies there. Previews are the best! All of the employees together just watching a movie and cracking jokes at the same time. The best one probably was Alien Vs. Predator. The worst movies make the BEST previews. It was also really great seeing movies a few days before they actually came out.
I came to work there because it was one of my dream jobs. I mean in a basic sense. My ULTIMATE dream job is a film director, but a projectionist will do for now. Anyways. I was 15 and working at Chesapeake Bagel and the people at surf and sand would come in and order food. I would talk their ears off about how I would want to work there, but couldn't until I was 16. So when I was about to turn 16 I put in an application and got hired. Out of all the people that were working there when I started only less than 5 still work there. I still talk to a few of them that moved away.
A year goes by and I move from snack to door. and a little while after that I get trained in box. And around the third year I get trained in projection which is awesome. It really is such a great job. The projectors are very fickle machines. One wrong move could fuck up the entire film print. I don't think alot of people don't fully understand how they work. When you don't do projection for a while and come back, its like riding a bike.
So the next logical conclusion would be that I would become a supervisor. But because I goof off alot and had a tendency to not follow some ridiculous policies, I wasn't made a supervisor. But it was strange. When I left for college 60% of the floor staff left for college as well. After that the theater wasn't really the same again. The responsibilities of the different positions weren't held in as much high esteem. I mean positions that took me years to get promoted to took people months to do now.
So I left for college and had to get other jobs up in richmond, and i never have enjoyed any place that I've worked at since. In a totally mutant way we were kind of a family. So strange but kind of true.
I was mentally writing this post during my shift and I was going to write out a whole movie theater etiquette guide but being that it is 330 in the morning and I have alot! of stuff to do tomorrow before I leave early Saturday I need sleep.

My Big Update
So yes i havent updated in over a month. But I do better than some other blogs I read. I want to try and keep this updated as much as possible.
Ok so I am in virginia beach right now. about to head back to New York in a few days. I am going to leave on Saturday. Kind of counting down the days. I want to leave but i want to stay.
The break overall has been good. Hung out with alot of people that I sorely missed. Phil and I went to the gym alot durring the break. I think it is benefiting me somewhat. Hopefully I will continue to do that in NY. Got to monopolize Shelby a bit. I didnt see ALOT of movies. but I saw quite a few really great movies. Atonement was really amazing. I wouldn't be surprised if it won best picture. But besides the many movies hanging out with my friends was amazing. I miss them so. Hopefully in a few years i can get more people to come live here because of how amazing it is.
I cant believe that next week I'll be back in classes. I essentially I have to switch around most of my scheduel just cause of various reasons. My grades last semester were quite good. One B and the rest A's which is SWEET!! I have to take a Literature class next semester which I'm mildly looking forward to. Hopefully we will read some really great books. But that rarely happens i've noticed. Been reading alot of books over break. Read The Subtle Knife, No Country for Old Men, a few scripts, Apollo's Song, and some comics. Right now I'm reading Peter Pan and its interesting so far.
My future reading list is full to the brim. I got a few gift cards and bout almost 6 books. Alot of titles that im VERY excited to read. I hope that I can adapt some of my favorite books into films. Thats what Stanly Kubrick did, he adapted nearly all of his films from books. My dream project is Claire Marvel and its a quite simple drama but the themes in it are something I have an intense personal connections with.
But alas the year is over and I saw around 230 nEW movies this year. Thats .63 movies a day!!! Not a bad average.
So yeah, I will do my best to update as frequently as I can. Now below is an unused post that I began to write before I left NY for break.
Another day another adventure. I went to work on Friday, and was sent on a massive errand. I went to take location photos of stages for a commercial shoot that we are doing. They gave me a list of places and a camera and put me in a car. For the next few hours I was running around all the boroughs to various stages taking pictures. It was really funny, I was sent to this one studio where they were shooting Gossip Girl, 30 Rock, and the Sex and the City movie all in the same building! I wasn't able to grab lunch in all of the running around.
I got back to the office at about 4pm. All that was left for me to do was to take the pictures off the camera and give them to the producers. But of course, being life, it wasn't that easy. Being that the camera was a Sony, and that the fact that all the pictures were located on the camera's internal memory, not on a memory card, we had no way of getting the pictures off of the camera. I had to run around in the snow for about 2 hours. And hadn't eaten all day. It was not fun. I even went to the sony store, they were sold out! They tried to sell me the wrong chord. I had prove their computer system wrong. So I went to this other store and had to put a $70 dollar deposit down so that I could borrow the cable for a weekend essentially. Anyways, I took the cable back and then I was done with work for the day. I went to this great resturant called Soho Park, had an amazing steak sandwich and fries, then caught a screening of Margot at the Wedding, which was not an enjoyable movie at all. I just hated all of the characters by the end.
Anyways so Saturday I lounged around and did home work before going to catch a late showing of The Golden Compass with my Uncle. But before we left I visited with my cousin who is almost two. And she is the most entertaining person I know. And I can entertain her very easily. Its great. She spent most of the night enthralled with my wallet.
The Golden Compass was throughly entertaining. Its a really great holiday movie. I love fantasy films. And I felt they did a good job with it. But it didn't do too well in the box office so it may not get to complete its story. Lame.
So I got back to the dorm around 1 and stayed up watching some movies. Then Elias and his two friends that are staying over came in at about 4am. It didnt really wake me up. I had just layed my head down. Elias needed to wake up at 530am to go work on a shoot. So we decided to be evil and keep him up till about 520am.
But The weeks ended and I was done with classes. My first year as a film student is done and I feel great. Can't wait to come back in a month.
