I got the call around 2 and made my way up to the office up on 57th street. But I got stupid and took the incorrect train and it took me almost an hour to get there. I go up to the office which is Marty's personal office. (personal note I don't do the name drops because I think I'm all high and mighty cause I interact with "famous" people. I just happen to be involved in that business). So I go up to the office and I'm greeted by Matt the assistant along with Nick and Dave who are the editors. They just finished editing the special features for the DVD for the shine the light documentary and they begin to export it on to a DVD. While that is happening we figure out how I am getting up to Boston. The train doesn't get in soon enough for me to make the train back so its a bus that I'm taking.
While waiting for the DVD I walk around the office and marvel at all the movie memorabilia strewn about. I walk down the hall and look into a room with those shelves that are on a track so that you can compress how much width they are at son you can have more shelves.
Anyway this room, all the shelves are filled with DVDs and VHS tapes literally numbering in the 3 thousand range. Thus was Marty's personal video archive. I was told thy this is only one 4th of his collection. They also showed me where he keeps his lasersdisc collection (DVD before DVD that are the size of records. ) and it is about two thousand titles. Needles to say I was impressed.
Grabbed the just exported DVD and a binder if DVDs all with the label "GH" and they confirmed my curiosity and told me they had to do with the new George Harrison doc they are doing.
So I hoped in a cab and went to the bus terminal, grabbed my ticket, a copy of Wired, some pretzels, and hopped on the bus. Listened to some Eddie Izzard while updating the blog (via iPhone).
After that I kicked on some Foals and read some more of the Kevin Smith diary, which is the main inspiration for my sudden restart up of my blog. If you read both you'll find our style is similar.
The trip went without incident. I felt bad for the person sitting next to me cause I sound really gross right now with my head cold. I have to snort alot and I just had a coffin fit halfway through the trip.
So I got into Boston around 930 and met up with Marty's assistant Lisa. We hit it off really well. I asked her where I could get some actual food before I had to turn around and get back on the bus at 1030. She took me to her hotel and went up to her room to print something out. I went to the bar and order a burger to go and sat down at the bar. I asked for a white Russian and the bartender asked for my id. Now even tough I'm not 21 I still gave it to her because i was hoping that she would take my confidence and give it a glance and give me the drink. But she took it and studied it for about 30 seconds before coming back and gave me perplexed look. I shrugged and asked for a club soda instead.
I got the burger and met up with Lisa and headed back to the terminal. She thanked me and said if I missed the bus that they would set me up with a hotel. We exchanged numbers and I walked into the bus terminal. I got in line for my bus and contemplated for a few minutes
about skipping the bus and taking up the hotel option in hope of going to the set the next day. But decided against it cause I wouldnt want to lie about something like that.
So I got situated on the bus with two seats to myself and munched in my food. The burger was pretty good but the fries were amazing. Hands down the best I've ever had.
Watched an episode or two of Battlestar Galactica before doing some more blog updating.
We made a stop for more people to get on and I tried my dardest to ignore every one as so they wouldn't sit with me but I wasn't ignoring enough. I had to re situate EVERYTHING. And he smelled of cigarettes, and he would stop talking to me for like 10 minutes. I even had by
headphones in and everything and he still' wouldn't take the hint. I like how the headphones have become an international "don't talk to me" sign. I sometimes wear headphones in stores just so people don't talk to me.
So I put Battlestar back on and after I finish another episode I put on this movie called Open City. I was about halfway through it a week ago and I just never got around to finish it until now. But I did finish it and really really enjoyed it. So I decided to watch and episode of firefly when the guy sitting next to me decides to rearrange himself and sleep on his side getting all up in my personal bubble. If there is one thing I can't stand is someone I don't know or care to know
touching me. And in the process of moving around he is now taking up a good chunk of my seat as well. I begin to tap him on the shoulder. Nothing. I start to shake him. Nothing. Then I slowly come to the conclusion that smell of cigarette earlier was only masking the smell of alcohol on him. So now he begins to lay back on me, making me trapped. Nothing is waking this guy up from his drunken stooper. Mercifully the person across from me told me to come and sit there. So I grabbed my stuff and moved. The guy continued to contort his body in the strangest of ways while still sleeping. Here is a picture of what he looked like sleeping.

Anyways so I got to bus station about an half hour after that. And as I was walking through the terminal I noticed alot of people just sleeping on the floor. Granted it was 3 in the morning but i still thought it was kind of bizzare. So of course I took pictures.

So I flagged a cab and he took me back to the dorm. I susupect that he took me the long way because the fair was over 20 dollars and its usually 18 including tip from that area. But whatever it was petty cash so I was't fitting the bill. I got back in around 330. Checked the internet for a few before crashing around 4am. It was a long day.
